i have a 96 gl1500 and this summer i added polk DB402 speakers and i am also using a bluetooth cassette and the speakers made a great improvement i need some more sound though.i don't mind using this setup but can i add an amp to the orginal system and if so has anyone done this and some advice as well.i can install a Bluetooth complete system but i don't mind using the original

A few have added amps. There was one that added a big subwoofer to the trunk and 6x9 drivers where the faring pockets were. You can search here for some examples of what others have done.

This should get you started. A search with "Amp" will find more, but a lot of false positives.

Thanks I will check it out I may just have to add a Bluetooth receiver and amp and leave the radio cassette there

If you wear a helmet just get a Cardo or Sena headset and forget about upgrading the radio. Unless of course you want others to hear your radio.

I installed a Bluetooth FM transmitter. The cassette option was grinding after a few days.
Transmitter works great. My Sena headset connects straight to the phone for calls and to the Bluetooth system for audio.

I removed the stupid little vent clip thing and bolted the mounting ball to the right speaker in the little false tweeter cover.


Ive been really happy with it. Works consistently and its gotten wet a couple of times and still working great.
