1996 gl1500 44K miles, stored inside. Great shape.
This winter, I changed all the fluids, spark plugs, tires, brakes, rebuilt forks. It has worked great for this summer, 2K miles so far. No problems until this weekend.
It sat for about a month, Battery trickle charger (2 Amp) was connected. Have used this charging process for years.
It will not fire. Engine turns over fast, headlight is bright, Neutral light is on, reverse light is off, kill switch is in run position. Replaced the battery with a known good one, cleaned all the connections, ohm'd the main fuse, and all fuses in the start, fuel, reverse, circuit. All good. Checked the fuel pump (after the filter). It pumps well. put the kick stand up, put it in gear and pulled in the clutch lever. No change in behavior.
The spark on 3 and 6 cyl seems weak, light blue spark (using a known good spark plug, then using a screwdriver. (will compare to my 97 tomorrow). Most of my cars, mid 70's, 2002 Mercedes, have stronger sparks.
Any thoughts?
Tomorrow, I will spray starter fluid into the intake,
validate the 97's spark pattern.
Remove a few plugs to see condition
Check the Pitcock?
Ohm the circuits out.
I have a 1997 gl1500 se to compare.
Your help is welcomed.

Re: 96 gl1500 se weak spark, wont start.
using the 97 wing as a baseline (because it runs and everything works (14K miles).
Spark was about the same.
Voltage was the same,
none of the connectors were corroded.
Fuel pump worked, before and after the filter (did not test pressure).
So, I
Sprayed starting fluid into the intake, and she fired off.
Started several times, and all is well for now.
Any thoughts? ( I am going to watch the fuel pump and the fuel Petcock)
So, this weekend, I will be ridding it.
