Weber 38/38 Carb install.

Well I install the Weber carb. Went down the road and it runs great. Needs tuning to be perfect, but she revs quick and barely give it throttle and she will haul ass.
She has some popping in exhaust after riding, I’m thinking need’s iridium plugs (was told to get them for cleaner and better burn) fuel is either not getting burned or it’s rich and fuel is making its way to exhaust.
I’ve tried but the YouTube videos are not loading.

Re: Weber 38/38 Carb install.
Well the hardest part is removing or capping off all the vacuum lines besides a couple on intake to go for timing advance, petcock (if you want to retain) and the cruise. All the other stuff was removed or capped off. The kit goes on and hooking up is easy. Almost plug and play.
I was tired of the factory carbs causing issues and was a pain to get them set and dialed in. Although to be honest, you go send your carbs in and have them oem set and cleaned and just have the shot air hooked up and it would run about same.

Wow! First time I've seen a Weber on a 1500.
I've never even heard of anyone trying that before.
Congrats!

video link doesn't seem to work for me. How about some pictures and a link to the carb kit? It would be nice to have an option for carbs
I am most curious about MPG. If it gets better MPG I am REALLY interested. I don't think the bike needs more power/performance but better MPG yes

Re: Weber 38/38 Carb install.
Not get to excited. lol I am having issues. First off it’s a clone (just found this out) and the adaptor/intake might be pooling gas in the box.(it’s not ported very well just a rectangle box with carb on top and outlets route to boots.) the cost for this kit is too high for a knock off weber 38/38. It idle like a champ and if stars are aligned will pull you back with slight twist of throttle. Its dies at from a red light when you start going on green. It burns rich and lean at different times (popping can be heard in exhaust) and it sometimes bogs down under heavy throttle, but does this sometimes and not every time.
When she wants to run and run right she is smooth and hauls ass.
So I am see what if any recourse I have in returning this kit from seller. I can have someone make a better plate and tubes routing to boots. Also going to have my factory carb sent in and fixed. I know I can run with just the vacuum line to carbs hooked up and nothing else. Just have to stop the over fueling on the left carb (factory).
I might just sale this lightly hardly any miles kit to someone that wants to play around with it.
