Cam shaft seal?

Cam shaft seal?
Group, I think with a 95% certainty that my left cam shaft seal is leaking. It’s not the valve cover gasket. Is there a seal behind the pulley? Has anybody tackled this before? Does the entire rocker assembly need to be removed? Or can this just be a pulley removal only and be able to be accessed once removed? Mighty obliged. Cheers

Cam seal or Seal Cam?
Once you take off the pulley, you can change the seal. See other forum for more info.

I have a question, taking off the rocker arm assembly seems to be held by 8 bolts. To get to the cam shaft, would it simply involve taking off this assembly? I hear stuff about hydraulic lifters and air being trapped? I guess one must be careful that the camshaft doesn't fall out. Mighty obliged

You don't need to remove the rockers to change a cam seal. It can be pulled off from the front and a new one driven in. A deep socket or PVC pipe makes a great tool to drive in the seal. A seal puller or a sheet metal screw can be used to pull the old one out.
Hydraulic valve adjusters can leak down without valve spring pressure. On an older engine like this, it is more of an issue. Best practice is to keep them in the same orientation and preloaded so they don't drain out. On some other engines I've seen some techs keep them submerged in oil as a precaution.
