SPEED BLEEDERS for brakes, clutches ETC

Just read about these items ... How many would I need to bleed systems on my 1993 GW GL1500. 1 for each system or will one or two work to bleed entire systems. My first ownership of a motor but rode HD's several yrs but we had a motorcycle mechanics to take care of them. I'm ready to get back in the saddle even if it has to be on a trike because of age, etc.

Welcome to the forum.

Every brake bleed valve should be cycled in proper sequence when bleeding the brake system. The speedbleeders allow you to do this by yourself. It makes sense to replace them all if you replace one.

You will need three for the brakes and one for the clutch.

I've never had an issue reaching the lever with one hand and the bleed screws with the other. Also be sure to keep any brake fluid from hitting the plastics. ABS will crumble apart if exposed to brake fluid. There is an access hole in the left saddlebag, but you are better off just removing that bag to bleed the rear brake and keep the fluid off the plastics.

TOTALLY AGREE

Suggestion: When replacing that saddlebag, from experience, had side cover rear pin break off.
After 32 years it's brittle but why just after replacing that bag? Looking closely I noticed the pins break was from front to back. Only thing attached to that cover is the bag.
HUMMmmm, loosened the bags 4 screws & was able to push it forward just over an 1/8 inch. YUP, just enough to snap off a pin. GRRR!!!+!

When I do one thing, I'll side-step a little & learn few more things.
