final drive problems

Post by the limey »

having done so much work on the final drive and never really solving the problems , i was looking at a Honda exploded diagram of the final drive and spotted some thing ,when i took the wheel out originally i just replaced all the parts in the same order so did the local mechanics when they changed the rear tyre , i have just seen the collar b rr , part no 42625-MW5000 42625-MW5-000 ,is fatter at one end and it's the fat end going into the final drive unit the other end goes in firmly and feels like it should be that way but am i right in following the diagram , take down again ,???

I use those hand drawn diagrams near religiously, never seen a discrepancy.
Reprints & copies erode the pix quality & have to either study it hard or look elsewhere for another pix.
For what the larger end goes into, I'd say you have it correct, via the diagram.

.
When I do one thing, I'll side-step a little & learn few more things.

Did the take down again , wheel out , spacer tube out if you turn the tube around ie, fat end in then you can't fit the wheel in plus the tube spacer flops about to much so you can't line up the spindel ,lift the wheel or line any thing up so back to thinking about my problem .
