Is it there only while clutch is out/and full rpms and/or does it go away when you pull in the clutch?

Is it there when clutch is pulled in and rpms drop off and 60 mph?

Sounds like the injectors. All 1800's make the noise. Some more noticable than others. My '04 was louder than my '12.

Just bought a 2008 model and it too has a loud ticking noise. Took it into the Honda Shop today and their mechanic had a listen and says it is perfectly normal. He said they have a mechanical reed switch on a breather pipe or something that makes this noise and to go and ride the bike. I said I'd get them to check it out next service and he said nothing to check it is normal.. So I went away a lot happier.

Took the bike over the Pits this morning and all the necessary paperwork is done and it is now registered in WA - Happy days :)
