Should be the same.
Curiosity screams to know why

My concern would be making sure one gets the lens to housing sealed. Not a good place for water intrusion

i"m asking because the lens is dark not clear, so i'm wondedring if the shape changed any?
not all 2001-2110 patrs fit the 2012

That's exactly what I thought you would say!
Please look closer, you will find the lens is still clear and the unneeded portion of the housing is what is actually coated black.
Tinted headlamp covers/tinted lens are not legal!
