Removing/Installing Mirrors

Post by v1butche »

I removed the mirrors on my 05 wing to remove the fairing to trace an electrical issue. The mirrors were a pain to remove and an even harder $%@#*%# to put back on. I can push the mirror back out of the way to get at two of the three screws, but is there an easier way to put the mirrors back on, or some type of special tool to use instead of a screwdriver? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get rid of the phillips head screws. I replaced mine with hex head bolts.. A small magnet in the socket holds the bolt while reinstalling. You an also try using allen head screws.
Both of these eliminate the stripping the phillips head screws.
