How high of wattage can I use in the high beam of my GL 1800 Trike. Can you get the bulbs in an automotive store?
Information Please....

H7 bulbs can be purchased in any auto store and even Walmart.
If you have 55w now you may be able to go up a little without overloading the wiring.

Check the clutch switch with an ohm meter to see if the switch is working.
If the trike has aftermarket levers they sometimes don't allow the switch to function right.

As to the headlight, consider a Silverstar Ultra bulb (orange packaging, not the grey). I put one in my KZ and it drastically improved the lighting and has not affected the charging. The KZ has a factory voltmeter and I have never noticed any negative change since I started using this bulb. The area where I live is rural and poorly lit, if at all, mostly not. The headlight made a big difference from the standard halogen. They are available at all auto parts stores that carry Sylvania lighting. There is an H7. I have every intention of using one in the Wing after a fairing is installed.
