Like many of you my 2002 GL1800 had switch problems. The emergency flasher and fog light switches would not work. I took them apart and cleaned and lubed them but I could not get them to work. I downloaded Chet Walters ANYTIME FOUR WAYS for FIVE BUCKS! Plus a NEW fog light switch!! For the GL1800 Gold Wing" I bought the new switches and the hazard relay for under $10 bucks. It took about an hour and now they look and work great. Thanks to Chet and the post here that helped me. Best thing is that if they go out in the future, two new switches, pop the old ones out, unplug and replug new ones from Radio Shack for $3.15 each done in 10 minutes.

Radio Shack switches aren't of the highest quality - I think if I were to do this, I'd go to someone like http://digikey.com and select a push on/push off switch that has a waterproof cover. It wouldn't add much to the overall cost, and would keep rainwater out of your electrics.
