The specific tire is sized 180/60R16 and under certain conditions users might experience uneven wear, groove cracking and even belt lift. Even if there were no reported accidents caused by these tires, running them makes the respective bikes unsafe and thus the reclaim rather urgent.
Some of the most affected bikers are the owners of Honda Goldwing GL1800, and combining overloading with under-inflating leads to even bigger risks. Continental is currently trying to identify all the affected ContiMotion customers and will get in touch with them.
One can identify these tires according to the DOT number: if yours is DOT H60LJJE5110 through H60LJJE3811, then you should contact the retailer or Continental and see to it replaced.

Re: Tire recall for 1800 and???
You know, all in all, I do not find this surprising. Continental brought these onto the market a couple of years ago with a really excellent price point. In fact, if they had not been sold out, due to their most competitive pricing, I would have bought them instead of the Avons I put on last year. Thank the Lord, Harry. I really did not need, nor want to go through all the B.S. that this will involve. I loved Continental tires on my Harley Softail Custom till I could not get them for the front wheel any more, but I think I will stay away from them for any touring bike. If I remember rightly, the last Conti Tour I had on the back wheel of my Softy did not give me real good service. Live and learn.
