Goldwing seat options

Post by Ridin Thunder »

Last year I bought an 03 with a heated Corbin seat. I've decided that I hate this seat and something has to be done.

What options are available? I like the heated part, so what ever I do will have to have heat.

What companies make replacement seats for the wing?

Thanks,

Ride Safe!

As far as I know, only one other company makes a heated replacement seat for your bike. Ultimate seats, found here, are nice seats. I hated Corbin also, but love my Ultimate. Not inexpensive tho.

Hope this helps

I contacted Mean City Cycles who I had rebuild the seat on the Vulcan 2000 and they cannot work on a seat that has heat.

So I decided to bite the bullet and ordered a Ultimate heated seat. After I placed my order I received an email saying that they did not make a 2003 Ultimate seat with heat because Honda did not come out with heated seats until 2006.

So who else has heated seats?

SteveB suggested googling "gl1800 heated seat" so I did. Mustang also makes a heated seat, with switches on the sides, so it would work on an earlier year Goldwing. Thanks SteveB

2003 is getting old maybe time to have it redone or look for a new one. I just put a ultimate midrider on best upgrade I done so far. Like anything else they wear out. Look around there are many other sites with videos on how to upgrade what you have. Good luck

I am having my seat rebuilt by "A Stitch On Time" in Clearwater FL. I have used them before and found they did a very good job. You can ship your seat and he will ship it back, or you can deliver it. his web site is www.asweetseat.com

What a strange business model....they'll sell you a custom seat...but not too custom?

You won't be sorry.Loved the Hartco on my 1500.I've got a heated Corbin as well now and the wife is not that crazy about it other than the heat part.A guy about a hour from me had a Hartco for a pretty decent price that I was gonna pick up and try out.Would have picked the best and sold the other one,but things didn't work out.I actually like the Corbin, but I have to convince the wife that she really does like it.Wish me luck.
If I'da known it would last this long,I'da taken better care of it.

I have an Ultimate King size seat for sale with backrest and heat, or for trade........ I'm in Oklahoma City.

It's in perfect condition. This seat was built for someone who is 6 foot tall or taller and I'm 5'7". The driver's seat measures 19 inches from the nose to the back of the driver's portion of the seat. A regular size seat is 17 inches and would be more my size....

It has the heated seat built in with a back rest. I'm willing to trade with someone for a seat that more fits my bottom that is also heated with a back rest...

You can see pics here: http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/mcy/4345010868.html

If interested, Private Message me or text me from the phone number in the ad.

You can always send your OEM seat to www.bikesolutionsllc.com down in Austin, TX and they can do a mod on that and you can keep your heat...That's what I did and I'm very pleased on the quality and quick turnaround. Check it out, it's an option that may do the trick for you.

Thanks for the link. I did sell my Ultimate Seat and swapped for the guy's OEM heated seat. So now I might look into that. Might even drive down there.

As I understand it Russel Day Long will fit heating to any seat they work on, as well as making it to fit you.

They have a very good reputation on the boards, so worth a try.
