Stuck in Reverse
I was backing the bike in the garage and stalled it in reverse. Now I can't get it out of reverse and I can't start it because it's in reverse. Any suggestions?

Re: Stuck in Reverse
How did you stall it in reverse? Shifted into gear with button depressed? If so then I would place the transmission in neutral, unlock reverse, turn the key on and rock the bike back and forth. Check all your fuses. Make sure the reverse button has released. Stupid question here, did you by chance hit the kill switch by accident? Battery condition?
Very complicated system. There are 53 pages in the 2012 service manual to diagnostic and repair the starter/reverse circuit.

Re: Stuck in Reverse
definitely check that rev button is not stuck, it should switch from neutral to reverse easily. Mine recently stuck in the reverse position and finally I got it to switch to neutral position. It will not start if button is stuck in reverse.

Re: Stuck in Reverse
As stated, the reverse uses the electric starter motor, so you can't stall the engine, you can only hit the engine kill switch or something similar.. I would be making sure it's in Neutral and looking to see if you knocked the kill switch whilst reversing.. As also stated you might need to check the fuses in case one popped, that would leave you stuck in reverse..

Re: Stuck in Reverse
Hello, I had that problem today (stuck in reverse) had work 2 hour to try to tow the bike back in garage. Then after reading this answers,I find the problem= I had hit the kill switch by accident. So your answers save me a none sleeping night and a call to the bike garage and a lot of money spend for nothing. Thinks a lot. I really like this forum.peppilepew wrote:How did you stall it in reverse? Shifted into gear with button depressed?
