GEAR INDICATOR....
Hey gang,
Winter has arrived in New Hampshire. Woke up yesterday to a coating of snow. To early for me.
Anyway....I was wondering if anyone has information on gear indicator devices that may be available for the 1800? One of my pet peeves with this bike that for all that money they'd have included such a simple item.
thanks in advance

Hello Win,
Just to tell that some are available at that french shop. You may turn their e-site pages to english language, if so desired:
http://www.sba-france.com/electronique/ ... ngage.html
Please note that you shall have to specify the year and if airbag model or not.
I am a member of a french goldwing forum, (where you may read the posts without registering) and we recently purchased a batch of them.
We all appreciate it.
Some of my fellows did post DIY's; here for a 2001 Model:
http://goldwing.lebonforum.com/t596-tut ... ur-gl-2001
and here for a 2012 model like yours:
http://goldwing.lebonforum.com/t467-tut ... ur-gl-2012
In trusting this message is of assistance,
Kind regards

Re: GEAR INDICATOR....
Healtech makes one that is plug n play for the GW. They are a bit pricey but hook up under the seat after snaking the wire under the shelter. I've a cheapo generic 6 wire from the intenet that I bought on a lark and the connection requires excavating down under your airbox and even then modification to prevent it from disabling the signal wires used to feed our ECU. Just not worth it. Go with the 4 wire plug n play gear indicator, faster install and no experimenting, or finding out you're in 6th gear

Re: GEAR INDICATOR....
I agree the Healtech from Bluemonkey is worth a look. I have thought about one but havent gotten to the point i'm ready to purchase one. I installed their speedo healer on my SEi and was very pleased with it, so if i do get a gear indicator it will probably be from bluemonkey Healtech.
