turn signal, brake light trouble
turn signal, brake light trouble
I have had a problem with the wires that route through the trunk hinge. The pretty severe crimpy that happens there has broken wires more than once. I have soldered the lines back together twice now. It seems like a bad idea to run the wires like that. Does anyone else have this issue and anyone got a more permanent solution?

Wires will typically break due to flexing in a small radius - i.e. bending a wire back and forth where only 1/4" of the wire is actually bending will cause the wire to break and fail a lot sooner than one where the wire is being bent back and forth the same amount only across 1".dhelle wrote:I have had a problem with the wires that route through the trunk hinge. A good way of making this happen is to enclose the wire in plastic wiring loom. The loom is stiff and resists bending, so the bending is extended across a larger area.

Thanks. Can I get that at an auto parts store?

Yes. They have them in all different sizes and come on spools so you can buy however long you wish. Electrical supply houses also carry them, as do fastener outlets.
