While riding today I heard a funny noise after stopping when I tried to shut the bike off it kept turning over even with the key off.
Reverse still works (battery has plenty of juice) but when I hit the starter switch nothing happens.
After I finally got the bike to shut down I had to push start it because even though reverse worked fine, the starter would not do anything.
That does not make any sense to me since the starter also controls reverse.
Anybody have any ideas?
thank you Fred

Don't forget, the bike has 2 big solenoids. Both energize for cranking while only one is used for reverse.
Probably the easiest place to start.

Almost always the switch.
The GL1800 is a crotch rocket on Steroids.
