Rear turn signals for GL1800 trunk lights

Post by b8210t »

Anyone know the manufacturer of a plug and play wiring harness that turns the running lights of the GL1800 trunk into turn signals. I saw one in a WingStuff add, but is does not appear to be plug and play. I saw an 1800 with trunk light running light/turn signals and thought that would really add to the safety .

Is this what you're looking for?

This is a trunk light reconfiguration harness. This is made by Electrical Connection and is designed to change the operation of the trunk lights. This highly requested kit will take your outside light on 2001-2005 models or your inside light on 2006-2010 models and make them turn signals leaving the other lights as brake lights. This gives you an additional visible turn signal on the bike when towing most trailers. This is completely plug and play and easily reversible. Check your local laws regarding both a red and amber turn signal on the rear of your bike before purchasing. This includes instructions and everything else you need and will fit all Goldwing 1800's from 2001-2010.

Here is another idea for giving you another signal light visible when towing a trailer. These fit on the back of the rear speaker mounts on GL1800s and are bright red LEDs. I put them on my bike and I am very happy with them. They are plug and play.

You can also adds some washers under the two bottom mounting bolts that hold the screen. That will tip the bottom of the screen up and change the reflection angle. I did this on mine, not a Navi, and it helped a lot. You will have to remove the meter panel to access the bolts. Just be careful not to drop the bolts into the Honda Hole. Stuff some rags under the assembly just in case.

I had put some hyper lights on the back of my bike. A set at the plate and a set behind the speakers. They are super bright., but they are not plug and play.
