Bugs and Flies Inside Speaker Covers
I have a 2013 Goldwing. We just did a 1600 mile trip and while riding I noticed bugs, flies and small butter flies getting on the inside of the speaker covers. Are others seeing this? Is there a good way to stop this from happening? How do you get the grill or cover off, pry it off? Thanks for your help.

You can't just take the wire mesh covers by themselves. The whole dash assembly is held in place by groumets. You can start by pulling the assembly loose around the keyhole area. Be careful not to pull to hard around the top of the speakers area. There are tiny tweeter wires that are connected and you might damage them. Or you could just do like I do with my '13 and on the previous '08. Blow them out at toward the bottom of the speaker area, or just them eventually blow out on their own.

Just a note, the GL1800 speaker grills did actually come off up until 2005 - after that, Honda decided that you needed to remove the entire dash to get to the speakers.Red Ron wrote:You can't just take the wire mesh covers by themselves. Re: Bugs and Flies Inside Speaker Covers
I did have an 05 and I thought the speaker covers came off but I didn't remember ever getting bugs in past the speakers. What has changed in the air induction? Can I fix that in some way as I really don't like things floating around as I ride. Thanks for your input.
