new to the wing

Post by 66frommd »

Just joined the forum trying to learn where the 6 pin accessory connector is located on the rear of my 2014 Gold Wing. I installed the Kuryakyn tail lights, along with the 3230 harness, but cannot locate where to connect them. Can anyone help?

Welcome to the forum from Ontario. The wife, nephew and I were in your area last week on the bikes. Not sure about the connector your talking about. Not sure mine even has it being an 04.
If I'da known it would last this long,I'da taken better care of it.

Welcome! I just put one of those harnesses on my 2012. You have to find the main connector that is tucked in along the right side (if I remember correctly). Your 3230 harness goes in between that connector and runs to the rear of the bike to attach accessories. The six pin connector is on the 3230 harness.

I thank you for the help. I ran the cable from up under the seat and trunk and out to the back. There was no 6 pin connector to be found. I dug all the way up past the highest point of the wheel. If the connection is that far up, the added light connectors don't reach that far. The 2013 and 2014 ARE different in some ways yet to be clear. The more I looked, the F6B Kuryakyn harness looked like it would do the trick.

This is what I did; I took one of the harnesses (Y connector) I had from one of the light kits, popped the pins (wires) out, took the pins (wires) out of the 3230 tail end of the harness and popped them into the connector end I took from the Y connector. I had gone to two Honda dealers, called Kuryakyn, talked to a couple of other Wing owners, and last night signed up and went through this forum. I was tired of being stumped by a simple plug and play install that stopped at 'plug'. My old postal ingenuity kicked in (no I didn't go postal) I improvised.

Thanks fellas for at least responding in hopes that it would help. The lights are looking good to go. I was about to turn on the key as momma was pulling into the driveway, so all is well. Hopefully someone will find this helpful.
