Re: Antifreeze Rated From Factory
I bought the bike new and have only 16,000 miles on it , the first year was kept in a garage now it will be under a carport and did not know if needed to put some heat out by it so if and when it get's below freezing the motor will not be effected ...still learning my wing after a year and half...thanks

The standard mix is 50/50 which usually equates to about -32F. This is only a guess, but IMHO a fairly accurate guess.

I don't have mine handy, but have you looked at the owners manual? If you don't have one you can download one at this site.

Re: Antifreeze Rated From Factory
Owners manual states "The factory provides a 50/50 solution of antifreeze and water in this motorcycle. This coolant solution is recommended for most operating temperatures and provides good corrosion protection" It goes on to say that less than 40% coolant is not recommended, nor is more than 60% coolant. It describes the preferred coolant requirement as being for aluminum engines, and having corrosion protective ingredients. It also warns against silicate inhibitors. It does not state specific temperature mix for the coolant/distilled water concoction, but 50/50 on most antifreeze brands gives -34 Fahrenheit freezing point to 265 Fahrenheit boiling point protection. As Honda recommends 50/50, it stands to reason that the aforementioned temperatures would be accurate.

Gentlemen I thank you for the info and also will brake open the owners manual following the given advice..just had new update on the steering bearings , started to have a slow wobble coming to a stop at any given time . So I took the advice of a fellow wing rider met at Deals Gap on one of our many trips to this area, and since he had and 01' wing with about 320,000 on it thought he might be onto something....
