Hi fellow Wingers!
I was doing research and came across a website that lists all the Technical Service Bulletins (TSB's) for the Honda GL1800 Goldwing. I was very pleased as I have been wondering about the 3 or 4 times that my Goldwing coolant temperature shot up into the red zone (yes, both fans were on to no avail). I now see that there is a TSB pertaining to the ECM. Strangely I had the same problem with a car and when I replaced the ECM, the engine temperatures never got beyond half way on the temperature gauge thereafter.
In fact I downloaded all the TSB's that pertain to my 2003 Goldwing and will print them and research each against my bike's VIN to establish if they apply. They also tell you how to look for the telltale "marks" that are supposed to be put on your Wing after the dealer does address an issue from a TSB and fixes/replaces a part.
I tried to search GoldwingDocs and could find nothing on this so I hope this is an 'original' post and I hope it is of value to you.

Re: GL1800 TSB's listing
We had them all online here once upon a time, but Honda asserted their copyright ownership and requested they all be removed.
Re: GL1800 TSB's listing
Why would Honda "bully" GoldwingDocs about this? Is there something they want to hide? Why publish TSB's then? I don't get it.
I take it that the posting of a website URL doesn't infringe on their "copyright" requirements then?
It's all caused by the 'lawyers' again isn't it?! LOL

It is caused by lawyers. But you can see it from their end: If you don't protect your copyrights, it can be argued in court that you are allowing the free distribution of your copyrighted materials, and can invalidate your copyright. Kind of a use-it-or-lose-it deal.Paulcf wrote:Why would Honda "bully" GoldwingDocs about this? Is there something they want to hide? Why publish TSB's then? I don't get it.

Re: GL1800 TSB's listing
I have 2001gl1800 with CSC trike conversion I'm not sure about 03 but right After I got mine Aug of 2011 I got caught in some stop and go traffic Less than 15 mph temp needle went close to the red. As soon as I got moving again it went back down to normal. This only happened a couple of times. 90 plus degree day. was told by my local Honda dealer (my cousin) that gauge was wrong and not to worry about it. Fast forward to last week I took it in for the new brake recall it was fine nothing needed so.i had them run VN for any pass issues they said there was a expired TSB for overheating which involved changing the ECM but most of their customers were unhappy because it cost them a lot of low end torque. If yours is overheating 15 mph and you're sure fans are running you have another issue. Hope you get it figured out
