I realize this may open a can of worms, but I'll ask anyway.....

All things considered; :?: what are the best pads to get for my 1800? :?: The consensus seems to narrow the choices to two: OEM and EBC?
What, in the mighty opinion of you all, have YOU found to work the best?

I await your input :)

I've tried the EBC, SIXITY brand "ceramic" (total crap) and the OEM, and the OEM is tops. A little more than the others, but worth it. The EBC's were nothing but brake dust and the occaisonal squeaking. The so-called "ceramic" were apparently wearing out the rotors quickly, and I couldn't get them off the bike fast enough.
Stick with OEM.

OEM seems to be the general consensus across all GL1800 forums...at least I get a 10% military discount at the local Honda shop...
thanks all :D

I'll agree with this. Never use ceramic on a bike - bikes are not like cars, the rotors are much harder and are designed to not wear like they do on a car. Most auto shops cannot turn bike rotors on their brake rotor lathes for this reason. Ceramic pads will wear away your extremely expensive rotors.

I used EBC's for a while because they were cheaper, but it's false economy. They're very soft, wear quickly, and produce copious amounts of brake dust that coat your wheels.

OEM's last much longer, don't cost much more than EBC's, with not too much brake dust, and perform as well as any.

Another vote for OEM... Tried EBC's on my 1500 and didn't like them - lots of brake dust and faster wear... Use nothing but OEM's on my 1800...
