Re: suspension air pump
did someone add an air shock to your 1800? I thought 1800's had a hydrolic shock with a knob to adjust for the settings

Re: suspension air pump
Mine is a trike conversion but the air suspension pump is the original with up/down & psi gauge. Problem is not an air loss (hose or shock) because it is holding pressure but the pump is not working.

Re: suspension air pump
the air pump and gauge are original to the trike kit not the bike, have you check for a fuse for the air pump

Re: suspension air pump
The GL1800 already had the suspension air ride on it according to the dealer that installed the kit. The only difference is that the hose/tubing was re-routed to the trike suspension.
Yes, I checked the only fuse I can find is the fuse panel on the left side under the seat. It was ok.

Re: suspension air pump
1800's do not have air compressors on them as OEM! They have a hydraulic pump to adjust the rear shock preload.
If you now have an air ride suspension, it was part of the trike kit!

Re: suspension air pump
THIS IS MY FIRST GOLDWING. Apparently my terminology is off. I was told by the dealer that the stock preload has been connected to the trike suspension. I thought it was air. Having said that, it has just stopped working. The fuse is good but the display lights up so in either scenario there is electricity to the pump, but it is not working. Where is it located? What testing do you suggest?
Re: suspension air pump
If its the stock pump for the suspension youre not going to like where its at. On your kit it is mostly behind the body and to the back of the right side cover. If you had a bike it would be behind the right saddlebag. If its like my trike its easier to access from inside the body than outside. I would ask your dealer which fuses service the pump because Ive never heard of one just dying.

Re: suspension air pump
It's a Motortrike Razor... BTW I held the Down button for a prolong period and the bike lowered, then when I tried to raise it, it worked and now seems to be working fine. What is the max operating pressure that a preload should be set?
Re: suspension air pump
It would depend what youre comfortable with. I run my preload 2 up at 17. If Im trailering I run 25. But my trike has another shock besides the Honda suspension system so I have to take this into account. Try a medium setting and work from there.

Re: suspension air pump
do you know what the maximum setting is? I don't want to over-do it.
Re: suspension air pump
If its the Honda suspension you should get a screen readout of 0 to 25 with 25 being the maximum. If you get a different pressure readout you may not have the stock suspension system. What conversion is your trike?

Re: suspension air pump
I have a Motortrike RAZOR. Can't find any info on psi for the preload.
Re: suspension air pump
According to the Motortrike website your kit has air suspension.
