My 2003 Goldwing with 100k miles developed an intermittent engine "miss" at low rpm on a recent trip. The problem seemed to be related to humidity; from working fine in west Texas - low humidity, developing the "miss" in east Texas - high humidity, to worsening in Louisiana - rain, and then improving in the Tennessee mountains. New spark plugs were installed in Louisiana which helped the situation but did not completely cure it.
Any suggestions on how to diagnose this problem?

Tonight, when it's dark, start your bike up, then take a spray bottle that sprays a mist, fill it with water, and start spraying it around the spark plug wires and boots. Look for sparks. If you see sparks, you've identified the problem.
