Corrosion on 2013 wheels.

Has anybody had issues with corrosion on the front and/or rear wheels of a second generation 1800? This was a flash picture which really brings it out. Luckily this is still under warranty. I hope.......

I had the same problem on my '06.

What I did was take a red 3-M pad with some Mothers Mag and aluminum polish and cleaned the wheel. Then with a Power Ball and more polish went crazy on the wheel. It ended up looking almost like chrome. When all done I coated it with SHARKHIDE to protect it.

It has been four years and the problem has not come back. The rims cleans easily and I recoat them once a year.

I also live in Venice so we have probably seen each other on the road as I am out on mine every day.

Hey Grape Ape, Yeah, the second generation GW's have a clear coat on the wheels now. That concerns me. Seems as if the corrosion is getting underneath the clearcoat. Since you live in my neck of the woods, ya part of GWRRA? Should come to our chapter meeting sometime.

I have a '13 and haven't had this problem yet. Also I ride in the salt air part of the year. Have seen this on other forums and read where some wheels were replaced by warranty.
