BikeMP3 CB Installation Step Savers

Post by cal3san »

I just completed installing a BikeMP3 Evolution Mode EV0lA CB in my 2003 Goldwing. I did not remove any part of the trunk though BikeMP3 did suggest it be done.

I drilled a 3/8" inch hole in the base of the upper trunk, next to the left hinge, and ran the antenna through it and caulked with waterproof caulking.

The large grommet for the power and antenna cords running in/out of main unit, which rests in cavity of upper trunk, is 1-1/2". I laid a piece of newspaper on the engine side of the upper trunk and used a spade bit to drill the hole. Perfect bit and clean up was wadding up and disposing of newspaper with plastic residue from drilling.

CB worked first time I fired it up.

Total installation time was 90 minutes. Would have been less but it was hotter than Hades here in Eastern NC and I had to take a few water and cooling breaks.
