master cruise butoon

Post by cinjeff »

previous post was vague so hear it is again. i have a 2007 Goldwing Trike and the master cruise button will push in but will not stay in. I have looked at the DIY article but that is a 1500 wing. Can I get contact cleaner in the button without taking it apart as this one has the reverse button under the cruise button. Thanks for any help on this before i take it apart.

There are a number of switches that will not allow the cruise control to engage.
The front brake switch, the rear brake switch and the clutch switch.
Aftermarket levers do not always make good contact with the switch.

You might get contact cleaner in using the straw past the switch. Spray and work the switch(key off) a bunch then spray more and work switch.

You are talking about the button that turns the cruise on ? If you push it on the cruise light engages but as soon as you release it pops back out. If this is the case the the button is faulty. Am I understanding this correctly?

Yes, the button pops back out and would not stay engaged. I was able to get the straw situated that the cleaned would penetrate the button and worked it several times and it has freed up and now stays in when i push it. Thanks for the replies and the advice given.
