2012 GW CB Removal
I have not received my Service Manual yet and was wondering what holds the CB in place. I have removed the radio, however, I am not sure if I have to get under the trunk to release the CB. CB needs repairs and must remove it.

Re: 2012 GW CB Removal
The CB is held in place with a big piece of double face tape. It may be possible to slide a piece of nylon fishing string under it and sue a sawing motion to cut through the tape.
When i installed mine, I didn't use the supplied tape. I bought some 3M dual lock. Looks like a very heavy duty velcro, but actually mates to itself.

You do not have to get under the trunk. Open the panel on the trunk floor and the CB unit is there. But you have to disconnect the wires from under the seat and from the main wire harness.

On a 2012 and above the radio is in the trunk. The cb is under it. All of the wires and connections are right there also. There is no main lead that runs up to the right side of the bike nor are there any fuel pump filter under the seat nor any filters on either side for the radiators. The only wire that runs out of the trunk is the coax to the antenna.
