Info screen locked up

Post by mdw1003 »

Hello, all.

Stopped for gas while on a ride this afternoon and when I restarted my 2012 Wing the information screen locked up and I don't have any radio/GPS/etc.

Has anyone run into this problem before and know of a fix? I have checked the fuse and it's not blown.

Thanks for any help.

Mike

Disconnect the battery for about 5 minutes and reconnect and see how things are working.

It's a computer, it can have bugs, and it can lock up from spurious noise. You don't have to wait five minutes: with the biked turned off, disconnect the negative battery wire from the battery, and briefly touch it to the positive terminal on the battery. This will discharge all the capacitors in the various devices instantly, instead of waiting for them to drain. Then reconnect the negative battery wire to the battery, and everything start up again fine.

Thanks everybody for your replies. After the bike sat overnight, all was fine the next morning.
