Re: Remote trunk release.
Will the trunk open with the latches?
Have you checked the wiring from the trunk that goes forward to under the seat. It has been known to break there where it bends a lot. Not sure if that effects the electronic opener or not. Make sure the battery is well charged and holding a charge.
I seem to recall something about the igniton has to be turned on or maybe it is off for it open with the remote.
Okay now it is time for someone who really knows how to test and correct this problem to jump in!

Yes, the key works fine for locking/unlocking and the mechanical release works fine.

Re: Remote trunk release.
On my GL1800, the remote will lock and unlock the trunk and saddlebags, but will NOT release the latches. I do not know if there are other versions of the remote that do, but I have not ever seen one that is different from mine. I suspect that your trunk latch WILL NOT release with the remote. My remote has three buttons which are 1) lock 2) unlock 3) alarm or locate.

Re: Remote trunk release.
Does the "remote trunk" actually release the trunk latch? If so, then they eliminated that probably in 2006.crock4 wrote: My 2001 has 4 buttons lock unlock remote trunk and call.

Re: Remote trunk release.
Look up the part about setting the code of the remote. Suspect you loss the code when you changed batteries.
My remote on my 06 does allow the lid to "pop up" when the button to open is pushed. That button, which has the image of the trunk lid open on it, has absolutely nothing to do with the saddle bags. Thought they were all the same!

Also, if the bike is running, you won't be able to "pop" the trunk with the remote, unlock only.

Re: Remote trunk release.
Yes it does, and I agree you probably need to reset the remote. This is trunk only. As far as I know they are all the same.themainviking wrote:Does the "remote trunk" actually release the trunk latch?
