connecting viberider to 2008 gl1800 seat
i have hooked up all wires except purple wire which says it should be hooked to the negative side of coil or rpm wire located in harness under the seat. however, it does not say what color the rpm wire is on gl1800. i have called around to quite a few bike shops and no one could or would tell me. i have even contact viberider who does not know the color for the gl1800. can anyone help me out there?

You're looking for the yellow/green wire. It goes from the engine control module (ECM) to both the reverse control module as well as the combination meter (which holds the tachometer).trent313 wrote:i have hooked up all wires except purple wire which says it should be hooked to the negative side of coil or rpm wire located in harness under the seat. however, it does not say what color the rpm wire is on gl1800. i have called around to quite a few bike shops and no one could or would tell me. i have even contact viberider who does not know the color for the gl1800. can anyone help me out there?

hey thank you so much man. but one more question, the harness containing that yellow green wire is the large one running next to rail on right hand side of bike as you ride? i am about to go hook this up....i seen only a yellow with brown crossstrips so i was not sure if i was in the right harness...but i really appreciate your response.

The ECM is on top of the air cleaner, you need to pull the false shelter to get to it. The connector with that wire is on the right side, and the harness then runs down the side. You can see it here:trent313 wrote:hey thank you so much man. but one more question, the harness containing that yellow green wire is the large one running next to rail on right hand side of bike as you ride? i am about to go hook this up....i seen only a yellow with brown crossstrips so i was not sure if i was in the right harness...but i really appreciate your response.

I am not going to judge you about your choice of 'accessories' ....
But once you get this working I want to see pictures or video of the test participants in action....

Maybe the harley riders use it to counter the already built in vibration. Just a thought
