REPLACE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY - 2012 GL 1800

Post by GARRYT »

Can anyone tell me how difficult it is to change the headlight assembly. Do I have to take the complete front fairing off? Does it show the process if I buy a shop manual? Thanks

Yes, the fairing has to come off, and yes the factory service manual shows the steps to do this. I'd highly recommend one for this - it's not a quick and easy task. Also take pictures while you take it apart, in case you forget how things go back together.

Go to this site to get an idea on how to take things apart. It is a very informative site for just about everything on a 2001 to 2005 wing. It won't be the same for your 2012 but it will give you a pretty good idea.
