has anyone replaced their seats on the 1800 with something else other then stock an if so with what an how do you like it? i'm not looking to send mine out to be redone.

seats, tires, oil, highway pegs, several kinds and several different body type and sizes. Your best bet is to try a wing with different seats on them and try them out. Or if there is a Gold Wing rally you can attend go there they usually have several different seat manufacturers there and you try them out.
I would say that generally speaking the Russell Day Long is about the favorite but it is the most expensive.

I have a buddy that got a Corbin... he loves it... I hate it. I have an Ultimate seat, I love it ... he hates it. It is very subjective. Wing Ding in Billings, MT, this year would be a perfect place to try all the seats. You will have to register to get into the vendor area. When I was at Americade, they had two or three places set up to sell only their own seats, so that might or might not work for you. Wing Ding, last time I attended, had just about every seat you could get, on display, and available to sit on. Mustang and Road Sofa are two others that come to mind.

thanks for the reply. i had a ultimate on my vstar but the crotch was made wider an afraid it will happen with the wing hence making it harder to flat foot it. i only have a 30 in inseam so it can get to be touch an go at times. i'll have to chk out corbin.

You also might want to check out Wingsoft. Ive had their large seat for quite a number of years and it works fine for me. But they make a small version for the shorter wing riders. Heres the link for you to check out.

I had a Mustang seat on my Honda Shadow aand loved it. I have never had a problem with the stock seaat on any of the 7 Gold Wings I have owned. Wing Ding is a great place to try a seat but then again, you can only sit on it for a short period of time.

thanks guys i will chk them out. i have had the mustangs before an not to happy with them. i found the ultimate to be far superior but they like to make the crotch to wide. an, most want to do your seat over an i,m not willing to stop not an give up my seat in the beginning of the riding season. i will continue to resarch this though. thanks

I'm the opposite.Out of 6 Wings(one of each size,2 1200's) none of the stock seats felt good to me or the wife.
If I'da known it would last this long,I'da taken better care of it.
