2015 Brakes Sticking

Post by stan0614 »

Bike: 2015 Level 3 ABS NAVI
A couple of Normal Schedule Services Performed by dealer. 7800 miles,
The Brake Recall Performed by Dealer.

Issue: I was in a memorial day parade with the bike and it was a hot day and lots of stop and go for a about a mile. Probably took a good 20+ minutes to go the one mile.
Towards the end of the mile when tapping the brakes it felt like the ABS was kicking in at 5 to 15 mph if that much.
After leaving the parade route and going faster and bike cooling off the shimmy of what felt like the ABS was gone.

Question: Is that normal when the bike gets hot or in a parade condition ? Is it a fault and if so what should be looked at ?

Thanks!

you may be experiencing "brake shudder"... This was supposed to be fixed with the brake recall but some riders still report the condition after the recall has been done... You can try doing the "Rocky Bleed" as described in the article below - that usually works...

Thank You! I’ll refer back to the dealer then. Will insist on the fix.
