F6B meter panel reinstall
Hello, just finished installing the J&M upgraded speakers to my 2015 F6B along with Kuryakyn chrome plastic speaker grills. The meter panel came off pretty easily removing the rear first (2 grommets) moving up to the speaker housings which unclipped pretty easily. Now, following service manual "installation is the reversal of removal". Easier said than done. Reinstalled speaker housing very top tabs and seated rear (which was very tight), rear wants to pop back up and clips around speaker housings just won't seat. What am I doing wrong? Checked for wire impingment; can't find any! Any help would be appreciated.

Also, do the two pegs in the front bottom of the metal panel engage rubber grommets as well? Holes on both sides of speedometer don't have grommets in them; maybe they came out with the removal of the meter panel? No part number on Honda fiche.

Are there 4 grommets total: two front on both sides of the LCD display and two rear? There are no grommets (or they fell out) in the front holes.

Re: F6B meter panel reinstall
There are 4 or 5 plastic snap fittings around the speaker grills. The have white plastic snaps that fit into the holes on dash panel. Also, two rubber grommets near the ignition switch. Press the front of the meter panel in first and then the bottom. It may be easier to remove the ignition switch ring first.
Look at the parts fiche: http://fiche.worldofpowersports.com/cyc ... MENT-PANEL
The clips are #9
It's possible that the new speakers are preventing these clips from seating properly

Re: F6B meter panel reinstall
Thanks for replying. Looking at 2005 and prior parts diagrams, it shows 4 grommets, 2 in front and 2 behind the key location. Post 2005 (2006 up), it shows only the 2 rear grommets. There are still two "prongs" in front of the ignition switch, with accompanying "holes" on both sides of the LCD display which looks like they hold grommets. The photos in the Saunders youtube videos, shows grommets in these holes with the warning that they "fall out" during meter panel removal. Trying to "mash" the meter panel back into position, the two plastic holes just in front of the ignition switch are getting all marred up. Anyway, last night I finally got everything back into position but the two white clips on the bottom of both kuryakyn speaker grills; closer inspection showed the chrome grills WERE is fact the final culprit (impingement) causing the meter panel not to seat completely. I called Kuryakyn tech twice and was told they were made overseas and nobody there had actually installed a set, so they really couldn't help me. I will be removing them today and taking them back to my dealer for a refund (if I can get the tweeters out!). Still would like to know if the two "front" holes (in front of ignition switch) should hold grommets. Thanks!
