From the article of Motorcycle News the next generation Gold Wing is going to be interesting, there is no release date as of yet for the Gold Wing. It seems that the next model will offer 2 different engine options, one being the standard 6 cylinder and the other being a 4 cylinder hybrid engine, interesting. The transmission will be a 7 speed DCT with reverse, there will be an electronic adjustable windshield along with an upgrade of electronics. It will also have a new front suspension, I really like the design of the bike.

Good article. Honda has to come out with a fresh modern look if it wants to capture the imagination of the next generation of potential GW riders. My friend is an HD rider and has looked at the new 2017 HD. He mentioned that through chassis engineering, the new HD 107 model feels almost as smooth and vibration free as the existing GW.

With all the possible engineering and electronic changes coming for the new GW platform, Honda would appear to be moving towards the HD/BMW model where work will have to go to the dealer.

Interesting about the two engine option. A 1200 cc with a 7 speed transmission would be interesting, but will do the chassis justice as the existing 1800 GW weighs the same as my '85 LTD, and the 1200 engine performs quite well in the older chassis doing highway speeds without a problem.

It would also behove Honda to better identify its dealers throughout Canada and the US much like HD has done, especially if the new GW and subsequent bikes will require dealer only work. Hopefully, the new breed of GWs will be as reliable as what has come before and dealer participation will be minimal.

Still looking forward to seeing the new GW and comparing it to the competition from HD, Indian and BMW.

just some thoughts.

Rumors are out every year. Honda is so secret about their new models our government should be that good. it would be great for Honda to have some big improvement from the much outdated Gold Wing. I will believe it when I see it.

I just don't understand the logic behind the multi-link front suspension (if that's what it's called). Why over-complicate things with all the pivot points and extra parts to wear and get sloppy. Seems like the kind of suspension you would see on 1940's Indians and Harley's and I think it's a huge step backwards. I've said before that they should have inverted forks on these bikes.
