Goldwing 1800, 2001 yr model

Bike has 160,000 miles. I do all maintenance work. Problem started 1 year ago. Bike started missing at speed. Was jerking, ran best under light load. Checked gas tank, drained, cleaned. Problem continued. Installed new fuel pump. Bike ran OK for about 6 months. Same problem reappeared. Checked return gas flow rate. Was 50 % of book value. Pressure was 50 psi on Left fuel rail. Replaced returned fuel hose. Bike ran ok for approx. 2000 miles. Same problem started again. Recap of all items repaired/replaced. Fuel pump, All fuel pressure & return lines, Both knock & Oxy sensors, checked all wiring connectors, fuel pressure regulator, pressure regulator vacuum lines, fuel pump relay, cleared fault messages in on board computer. Bike still has problem. F1 light will only give right knock sensor fault. I believe it gives that fault because the engine is missing so bad. Short of changing all other fuel and timing related sensors I'm out of ideas for cause. Any help will be appreciated. Gemimo

I would present this problem to Stu Oltman, the Wing World Senior Technical Editor (Guru for short). You may not make the magazine, but at least you will get an answer back from Stu even if you don't. You can email him at or snail mail to:
