Found this ... ''2002 Honda Goldwing with current tags runs great''. Seller is asking for 1900 o.b.o, timing belts done in April ... 286,000 miles ... 2nd owner bought & in now selling since then ... 286,000 miles ... Great Shape ... 286,000 miles/$1,900.00 o.b.o. ... any thoughts ???

I would ask a lot of questions. Starting with who changed the timing belts on a bike that doesn't have them Also, have a qualified technician give it a "once over". It's not unusual for these bikes to run that kind of mileage but...

Chains in the 1800s, and at that mileage, I would have probably changed them. So maybe it was timing chains that were changed. If so, there is really very little else that can go bad on an 1800 engine. If all the electronics work well, and a test ride is satisfactory, then the price is almost too good to let go. Most of that year bike is still selling in the $8 to $10 thousand range. Just keep in mind what is always said about deals that are too good to be true.... and that is - maybe they are not true. I would really want proof of timing chain work. The only other problems the 1800s normally seem to have is transmission. If it is not popping out of gear and shifts nicely, you probably have a good one there.
