I bought a used 2007 GL1800. Behind the license plate area was a box and connectors for a trailer connection, which I unplugged and removed. I also disconnected what appeared to be an after market wire splitter. What seems to be missing is a splitter that would run not only running lights, but also brake lights to the upper lights. Only the running lights work. I have not had much luck finding a clear wiring diagram or pictures of what the wiring should look like.
I am assuming the upper lights are running/brake as having mixed red and yellow turn signals doesn't seem right.
Thoughts, pictures or explanation would be appreciated.
Thanks
Frank

Re: 2007 GL1800 Upper tail lights
If your Wing did not have the top box brake lights wired up from the factory (not all of them did because I wired up several, has been years though and cannot remember the year reg), then what it should look like may not be what you are after, whoever installed the tow relay may have retro connected the top box stop lights to the pannier stop lights. If the top box brake lights worked before you removed the splitters/ tow relay, you need to work your way back
If at first you don't succeed, hide the evidence.

Re: 2007 GL1800 Upper tail lights
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately my issue appears to be in the wiring behind the license plate. Hoping someone out there has pictures of that wiring so I can see what is askew on my wing. Once resolved I will look into the mod you posted.
