Turn Signal Light stays on
On my new to me 2003 1800, The right turn signal lights front and back stay on. Pushing the signal switch in (cancel) does nothing. Turning the switch to the right causes the signal lights to function correctly, when cancelling the right signal the light stays on. I have completely disassembled and cleaned the switch assembly (no easy task), did not solve the issue. Does anyone have any ideas on things I can try?

Re: Turn Signal Light stays on
If both left and right indicator lights are coming on at the same time, I suspect you either have a problem in the hazard flasher switch or a short in the wiring. What happens if you disconnect the hazard switch (that is the only place where left and right hand sides come together electrically).

About the only thing I can think of Jeff, is that you are getting a 12v feed into your right signal lights somehow. Does the turn indicator stay on too? Maybe through the trailer light connector or the isolator. Or possibly from all the LED's you have installed. The aftermarket LED connections would be the first place I would investigate. I assume that you did not have the problem prior to the installation of the LED's.

Re: Turn Signal Light stays on
Thanks for the reply's Gary and Mike. Only the right turn signal is affected, so it does not seem to be caused by the hazard switch or circuit. I think you might be on to something Mike, I had not thought about the trailer wiring being the possible cause. Yes, the indicator light stays on as well as the front and back signal lights. The LED lights I have installed are powered from a source not even close to the turn signal wiring so I don't think they are at fault. The trouble started after extended days of riding in the rain. I have had trouble with the trailer wiring harness installed by the previous owner. My thoughts now are to check grounds and the trailer wiring.

Re: Turn Signal Light stays on
Good news, I have found and fixed the problem. For a week I rode the bike with no signal light coming on, then it started up again. I had to get gas on the way home, I went over a few speed bumps and the light flickered off and on. I knew it had to be in the front. I have the optional light in the caliper covers, that is where I started. I found a complete break in the wires under the sleeving. The sleeving was holding it together just enough to either make it work or short it out. I replaced the wires and it is back to working just fine. Thanks for your suggestions on figuring this out.
