Post by tiger33771 »

Hi , The A B S light on my 2008 G L 1800 airbag is flashing, I did check out the codes and did the reset still flashing. My question is : Where are located the A B S sensor for the front wheel ? I like to check out if I can do something before going to the dealer.Thanks.

The wheel speed sensor is a cylindrical metal object next to the toothed ring on the front wheel. It is item 3 in this diagram:

You did ride the bike after noticing the ABS light flashing, right? If you did not, then try it. The light might go out.

I have a flashing ABS light. Dealership says it is not affecting my braking. According to codes there is a short somewhere in the cable. Is there a fuse that can be removed to stop the flashing? I tried the three (2,3,13 If I remember correctly) but did not stop the flashing.
Thanks
If possible please reply to forum and to my email address danthebiker@gmail.com. I do not have the capability to check Goldwingdocs all the tiime.

So your ABS is disabled due to a shorted cable, but your dealership says it's not affecting your braking? How do they figure that?

You could always just replace the cable that has the short in it, which would stop the flashing...and give you back your ABS functionality.

Thank you for the quick reply...you are right, why not replace the wire (or repair). The cost would be all labor - $500 minimum, something I can't afford at this time. I can only take the word of the service manager that my braking is not affected. In any case, until I can do what needs to be done - replace/repair the wire I am looking to stop the light from flashing.
Thanks again for the quick reply... Dan...
