Bike is triked need to wire kick stand like it is up.
Kick stand has been removed, need to tie two wires together to show kick stand is up. Question which two need to be tied to show kick stand is in upright position and will allow bike to start once clutch is engaged. They are three wires one solid green, two green with white stripe going down the green. Third is solid yellow. Which two tell the bike kick stand is in proper position.

Re: Bike is triked need to wire kick stand like it is up.
It appears to me that the Green (G) wire is ground, the Green with White Trace (G/W) goes to the clutch switch and the Yellow with Black Trace (Y/B) goes to the Side Stand Down indicator.
With the Side Stand down, the Y/B is connected to the G wire. With the Side Stand up, the G wire is connected to the G/W wire.
So, I'd say connect the G wire to the G/W wire and you should be good.

Correct. At the sidestand switch connector, tie the G and G/W wire connector together, and it will tell the bike that the sidestand is up at all times.MikeB wrote:It appears to me that the Green (G) wire is ground, the Green with White Trace (G/W) goes to the clutch switch and the Yellow with Black Trace (Y/B) goes to the Side Stand Down indicator.

You have two other options.
One you could use a tiewrap to lock the existing sidestand switch in the up position and hide the switch under the plastic cover. The downside to this is if you ever need to read the diagnostic codes on your GL-1800 the sidestand switch must be in the down position.
Another option is to use a double pole single throw switch in place on the sidestand switch. This will allow you to switch between the sidestand up or down position. This DPST switch can also function as a security switch as if you mount it in a concealed location you can engage it in the sidestand down position ("S" light on dashboard will be on) making it impossible to keep the engine running once the bike is put into gear. This makes it a bit harder to steal your trike and still allows you to read diagnostic codes if you need to.

Good point, I had not thought of that. The SPDT switch is a good idea. If I ever had a trike and removed the side stand, for lord only know what reason, that is the option I would take.W3JNP wrote:...The downside to this is if you ever need to read the diagnostic codes on your GL-1800 the sidestand switch must be in the down position

Re: Bike is triked need to wire kick stand like it is up.
This "post" certainly saved me a LOT of time. Was on I-95 when my triked GL1800 engine suddenly shut down. I got off on the side of the road and started searching through the Goldwingdocs.com and quickly found the problem !
The kickstand switch on my trike had NOT been removed and bypassed the way it should have been.
If you have a Trike conversion by CSC you may want to check the kickstand switch circuit NOW !
On my GL1800 trike it was merely wrapped in electrical tape and NOT bypassed !
Thanks to those that have made a post about this issue !

Most trike builders like to disable the system by "tying" the side stand switch in the up position. To do that position the metal tang, that goes into the side stand at the 3-oclock position to the notch in the switch.

It should actually be replaced with a manual switch. Otherwise, you will not be able to retrieve fault codes.

Another option is to leave the side stand attached and left in the up position. Some trike builders do that too. Because disabling the side stand is not part of the instructions for installing a Champion Side Car trike kit, most Champions trikes still have the sidestand attached.

Re: Bike is triked need to wire kick stand like it is up.
My side stand was not removed when it was triked, so I cut it off below the switch. This way I can still use the switch if needed.
