switch lighting on handle bars
I have a 2001goldwing 1800, I have purchased new switch assemblies from for a2005 model that has the internal lights. My problem I don't know if they operate off 12 VDC or a lesser amount of voltage. The wiring diagram I have only shows how the switches are wired not how the lights are wired. Does anyone have a diagram showing how the internal lights are wired in both the left and right assemblies.

Seems to me that the plugs would be different. Extra pins for the power to the lights.

I was looking in my maintenance parts breakdown book and the plus look the same but what I am looking for is a wiring diagram for the internal lighting in the switch boxes. I do have a diagram that shows the wiring for the switches

Re: switch lighting on handle bars
Well I had to wire the two wires one from each handle bar switch box to a separate fuse. Lights work great. The big problem was the diagram shows all the wiring for 2001 thru 2005 the same color codes WRONG different colors on the new switches. Thank goodness for my 25 years as an aircraft electrician and doing many mods to aircraft. I have it rewired now and working great. Bigger project than expected but atleazt they are any peel and stick lights. Major disassembly to get to each of the wire harnesses.
