Darkside Tire Options

Post by waituntilthebeep »

I was running a Michelin Primacy Alpin on my bike awhile back before it took a gnarly nail that split a band. I went back to a Dunflop M/C tire and that thing is just squirly from the beginning. I was looking at putting another Primacy back on there and they don't make them anymore. Anyone out there DS'ing it that has a different CT they really like? I was looking at some other ones but would prefer to not reinvent the.. well, wheel 8-)

I'm on my 4th Yoko. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.js ... &tab=Sizes

Been on BMT's for over 11 years and this tire can handle what I throw at it.

I have used 2 yoko avid envigor but they were not runflat. Really liked them and got about about 25k with average riding. Right now am using the yoko avid assend (also non run flat), and i like it better. Ride is unbelievable with 3 oz. of beads and does not wear out in center first. Have about 14K on it and looks like it has about 12K more.

I had the Primacy, too. I just put on a Bridgestone DriveGuard 87V 195/55R16 Run Flat. I put on 1000 miles over the weekend. Everything from twisties to open freeway. 60 degrees to 100 degrees. Did 450 miles on Sunday. I felt no difference between the new tire and old. I'm a big fan of RUN FLAT. It just adds security.

I got 26.5K on my Primacy.

I can only dream of getting more than 9-10,000 smiles out of a BMT.

I'm not complaining, It's the price I'm willing to pay to enjoy myself.
