Hey guys.
I bought a 2004 1800 wing and replaced the air breather element. Now the headlights will not come one when you power up the ignition. I think the lights were working but I had not riden it at night yet. Odd enough the high side will burn weak when the reverse is engaged. I pulled back off the top fairing thinking I had left something unplugged. Everything looks correct. I am at a loss. Where can I download a wiring schematic or have any of you had this situation before.

Re: 1800 GW headlights will not turn on
I have run into a similar situation on my 03 Gl1800. I found the problem was in my starter thumb switch. Bike would start and perform just no headlamps. The switch would not fully return after starting and had to be coaxed at which point I had head lights. Hope this helps.

As you press the starter button it disconnects the circuit to the headlamps. This switch sometimes sticks.
Squirt a load of contact cleaner into the starter button and operate a few times.

This post is two months old. Did you get your lights to work? If so, what did you find was the issue?

Starter button has a solenoid in the switch cluster that was bad. replace the switch assembly. works now.
