Wiring for cruise control/reverse/rear brake light switch

I was wondering if there was a specific way to plug in the wires going to the switch box near the front brake lever. I just replaced the switch; my rear brake lights work now, & my reverse works. My cruise control, however, will not activate. Suggestions? 2005 GL1800
