Squeeky Trunk

Post by polar1940 »

Wondering if anyone has run into a issue with a squeeky trunk lid on a 2010 goldwing. It is annoying to say the least, any updates or fixes will be welcome.

May be a couple of things. One is the trunk hinges. Try a little piece foam rubber under the hinges.
Second is the trunk lid hitting the trunk box. A piece of aquarium tubing slid into the trunk gasket will raise the trunk lid. You can slip the tuning into the gasket. You'll need two pieces and slide then from the center separation on the gasket. Some silicone lube will help.

My '13 squeaks and oiling didn't help. My '08 never squeaked.

Cycle Max sells baby buggy bumpers. I purchased and installed follow directions exactly. Stop squeaking and helps against paint rub. I also did the foam on the hinges where they fold over each other. Good luck.

This is a little pricey but its a good product and does what it says. I have this and the baby bumpers because I have a trunk rack and ocassionally put a bag on it.Ive had it on for 9 years and no issues whatsoever.

I also thought they worked well also. Take care.
