2008 LCD Display Setup

Post by pburgwinger »

I have a 2008 gl1800 without the navigation system and I need to change the lcd display. I have an owners manual that gives the setps to do it but, when I try to edit the Welocme splash screen, my display does not have the same options the book says it should. it Seems there is no way to get to the " special" (edit) portion of the screen. I can turn it on and off but that's it. Any I deas?
Thanks,

My manual, also for a 2008, has different sections for bikes with nav and bikes without. You may want to check yours and make sure you are in the bikes without nav section. Mine has nav so I haven't read the other part. If you don't have it let me know and I will read through mine.

I do believe that some of the custom stuff requires that you have the Navigation package.

I had the same problem with my 2010. The secret was to first turn the ceremony OFF then exit. Then start over with the directions in the owners manual.

Hey all.
I have a 2007 that has the previous owners name on the start up display. I tried taking out the battery hoping it would wipe out the set up, but it didn't. How do I get my name in the ceremony???.?
