Hello everyone, My new to me 1800 has a Corbin leather seat on it. I am wondering what would be a great product to treat the leather with for sun protection and to protect it when we get caught in the rain. I was thinking about mink oil but have my concerns about putting that on and having to sit on it when its a hot day. Any suggestions would be great,.......... Thanks

I used mink oil on my vinyl seat and it worked great. It darkened it and made it very supple, so I am sure it would be great on leather.

Mink oil attracts dirt as it is, after all an oil. The very best product for leather is Saddle Soap. It cleans and reconditions without living oily residue. Mink oil will indeed leave the leather supple, but needs to be wiped down every day so that the dust it attracts does not get ground into the leather.

Have you contacted Corbin for any recommendations from them? Also there are waterproof covers you can buy to protect any seat from the rain. But the advantage in this area goes to Honda and the stock seat on the GL1800 as it repels water very well.
